Most people have adrenal problems, and this is why many practitioners recommend adrenal testing to m of their patients. But while many people have adrenal problems, the patterns can differ, which is why testing is recommended. There are a few advantages saliva testing has over blood testing when it comes to the adrenals:
- Saliva measures the free or active form of the hormones, including cortisol.
- You can look at the circadian rhythm of cortisol by collecting multiple samples throughout the day.
- Collecting saliva samples is noninvasive and painless.
- It’s convenient to collect the samples. They can be collected from your home, office, etc.
What Markers Are Tested?
The Adrenal Stress Index (ASI) uses five collected saliva samples to assess the following markers:
- Cortisol
- Insulin
- DHEA/DHEA-S
- Secretory IgA
- 17-OH Progesterone
- Wheat gluten SIgA

Results Turn-Around Time:
5 to 7 business days from time sample is received (may take longer based on weather, holidays, lab delays, etc.)
International orders.
There is a flat shipping and handling charge of $35 for all international orders. The test kits are sent via USPS. Although we’ve sent many test kits to Canada and overseas over the years, depending on what country you live in you might want to check with customs to make sure there isn’t a problem 1) receiving test kits, and 2) sending your samples back to the United States.
Return Policy:
Return policy for a refund is 90 days from the date of purchase. The kit must be returned unused and with all pieces (i.e. vials) before a full refund can be issued. Once you send in your sample to the lab there are no refunds allowed. Shipping fees are non-refundable.
